A little about me

My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by many years of caring for and connecting with others. Before becoming a licensed professional counselor, I spent ten years as a critical care nurse and fifteen years as an educator. Those experiences taught me the importance of compassion, resilience, listening, and truly meeting people where they are—values that continue to guide my work as a therapist.

I work with adults—women and men—as well as couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and the many transitions that life brings. I have a particular interest in supporting clients through experiences that can deeply affect their emotional well-being and relationships, including infertility and reproductive loss, pregnancy and postpartum changes, perimenopause and menopause, becoming a parent, difficult health diagnoses, medical and surgical trauma, and other significant life changes. My nursing background gives me a unique perspective when supporting clients coping with the fear, grief, uncertainty, and adjustment that can accompany illness or a medical experience.

My approach is warm, person-centered, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be yourself, feel heard without judgment, and explore what matters most to you. I am an EMDR therapist with advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and I also incorporate mindfulness, CBT, ACT, and other approaches based on your individual needs and goals.

I am proud to be an LGBTQIA+ ally and committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming space for every client. I believe meaningful change begins with a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, authenticity, and acceptance.

You don't have to navigate a difficult season alone. Whether you are working through a major life transition, healing from a difficult experience, struggling in your relationship, or finding your footing after an unexpected diagnosis or loss, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
